Over 100 years ago the richest man in America, John D. Rockefeller, said:
"The ability to deal with people is as purchasable a commodity as coffee and sugar. And I will pay more for that ability than any other under the sun!"
The prestigious Carnegie Institute has recently reported that Rockefeller's insights will most likely have even greater significance in the future.

Dis-Stressing
For Greater Effectiveness

Stress is one of the most misunderstood aspects of life.
It is blamed for everything from hemorrhoids to acne,
indigestion to baldness, poor work performance to broken marriages.
But, what most people do not understand is
that stress is actually necessary for life.
To quote Dr. Hans Selye's book Stress Without Distress:

"Stress is the body's non-specific response
to any demands made upon it."

A good example of what Dr. Selye was referring to would be when cold temperatures cause the body to shiver. Shivering is simply the "non-specific response" (stress), to the demands of cold on the body. Therefore, our problem is not stress, because shivering is actually good for us when it helps us survive the cold. However, when stress is elevated to distress, without a timely release, the results can be very counter- productive if not harmful.

In our eight-hour stress management program,
Dis-Stressing For Greater Effectiveness,

we provide a lively and informative presentation
that enables participants to:

  • Define types of stress and understand the fight or flight connection to distress
  • Recognize/define the stress stages and it's effects on the mind and body
  • Identify the symptoms of approaching distress in self and others
  • Describe specific methods that can be used in real-time situations
  • Apply effective distress management techniques
  • Receive guidance for more distress-immune lifestyles
